SBI’s Global Awareness Camp is a two-week study camp designed for children and young teenagers aged 9 to 15 years.
The camp provides a stage for young minds to explore, investigate and develop leadership skills through enquiry-based learning scenarios and is an excellent personal development opportunity for children and young teenagers.
The Global Awareness Camp runs in June/July and again in December and can also be delivered as a camp for private student groups.
Camp Philosophy
The camp philosophy focuses on interdependent learning where the teachers act as partners and guides and lessons are designed to provoke awareness and discovery. SBI's highly qualified and experienced native-speaker instructors apply a student-centred teaching approach to maximise student engagement.
The course focuses on the development of skills and knowledge needed for future leadership:
Global Awareness Project
At the beginning of the camp, each student selects their own topic of global importance (global warming, deforestation, extinction, global economic trends, mental health, animal welfare, ocean health etc...) and during set afternoon sessions they work towards creating the final presentations and reports on their selected topic.
Students will make their presentations to the class and will field questions from their instructors and peers about topics of global importance. A sample of types of presentations to be developed by students can be viewed by downloading the PDF sample below.

*Most students enrolled on this camp will have a high level of English fluency therefore students attending this camp must have a minimum pre-intermediate level of English and must submit a pre-camp assignment and sit an interview in order to gain acceptance.
Most participants in this camp are overseas visitors to Bali and stay and study onsite at our camp study base with an accompanying guardian. It is also possible for students to join the camp minus the accommodation component.
Study Camp Base:
The Garden Hilton hotel (just 5 minutes from the international airport) is the host venue for the June/July 2023 Global Awareness Camp and children attending the camp stay and study onsite with an accompanying guardian.
The hotel provides a comfortable location for the camp with the hotel meeting rooms perfectly designed for SBI's study programme.
Note: Locally based students can join the daily study programme (no accommodation)
We hope that you will select the Global Awareness Camp in Bali and we look forward to guiding your child on this wonderful learning and discovery journey in Bali.
