The Bali Global English Camp is Bali’s premium family camp and is 2-, 3- or 4-week programme for children and young teenagers and accompanying parents.
At the Global English Camp, children and young teenagers build confidence and fluency in the English language and, through practical STEAM activities, actively use target vocabulary while building creative capacity and team-working skills.
The Global English Camp is a 4- week summer and winter study camp that integrates English language study with STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics) components in a mixed nationality classroom environment.
There are also 2 x weekly outings that are connected to the weekly theme where kids explore Bali with new international classmates.
Students aged from 4 years to 15 years are placed in class groups based on the following criteria:
* Age
* English level
* Nationality (to ensure the mixing of different nationalities)
THE GLOBAL ENGLISH CAMP ACADEMIC APPROACH
STEAM activities involve multiple standards from Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths and class projects allow Global English Camp students to improve their English while learning new skills.
This blended learning approach encourages creative minds to think outside the box, see things from different perspectives, and use tools and materials in new ways while at the same time stimulating the use of English language.
English Classes on Camp
Each lesson is designed to start with the presentation of new language items through drilling and practice, which is then developed through repetition of practice activities, such as spoken presentations, and writing tasks, such as reviewing their learning in the student’s learning portfolio.
Student Presentations
To develop students spoken English, self-confidence, and public speaking skills, students must complete daily and weekly presentation projects. These tasks increase in the level of challenge throughout each week and culminate with each class group’s presentations to the whole camp every Friday afternoon.
English Immersion Environment
The Global English Camp offers a fully immersive English language experience with an English-only policy throughout all activities, including classes, outings, and even during personal time. With English being spoken at the camp and across Bali’s popular spots, students can practice in real-life situations inside and outside the classroom. This total immersion helps rapidly build confidence and fluency, especially for those who already have a solid foundation in English but need more practical experience.
All English language classes are taught by experience & qualified SBI native-speaker teachers. STEAM activities are led by qualified Indonesian primary school teachers who focus on hands-on, creative problem-solving linked to weekly themes.
Camp classrooms are purpose built for a collaborative learning approach & multimedia facilities allow SBI camp teachers to deliver classes with the multi media facilities that teachers use to maximize student learning potential on the camp.
All Global English Camp classes take place at SBI's junior campus which is connected to the SBI English Learning Resort.
The junior campus has 7 well appointed classrooms, large student hall, onsite medical clinic and a garden space for activities. SBI's junior campus is also the home of Jimbaran Junior Academy (JJA) which is an international standard primary school & the Global English Camp takes place during the primary school holiday period.
The SBI Learning Resort is set on 2,400 square meters and during the camp students will also access resort facilities for gardening and cooking activities.
The Global English Camp requires children to join with at least 1 x parent and children and parents stay onsite at the camp resort. Parents have their own light programme which consists of 2 x per week English classes or 2 x per week yoga classes as well as participation at the Thursday evening camp BBQ.
Parents are also able to select from a number of different optional activities offered each camp season or simply relax and enjoy their time in Bali.

Thank you very much for the wonderful two weeks. My kid first hesitated to attend the class without any Japanese speakers. But he got used to communicate in English only environment. That was the key challenge for him but he could get the big confidence. We want to come back next year.
